For the most part I choose WIndows professional editions as my operating system to game on.
Windows 11 professional allows me to remote desktop connect anywhere in my house to my gaming desktop in the garage.
This allows me to run my machine in the garage with fans full blast to keep her nice and cool.
It allows me to invest heavily in one beast of a gaming machine with a premium or ram and remote desktop into that machine at any time.
I can emphasize ram and multitasking and gpu performance on one machine and then use rebuilt of refurbished laptops to use the Big GPU i have on my garage system gamiing machine.
My family is not subjected to the roaring fans of my cpu and gpu as I kill mobs and npc's.
Now it is also possible to do the same thing with a free Linux distribution. But as I also like to develope software on my WIndows machines the extra cost of WIndows 11 professional is a labor saver.
I can have all my heavy computing done in a central and industry standard machine , if I am gaming or if I am coding.
